The Engineering Biology Research Consortium (EBRC) hosted the event “Building International Best Practices for Robust Nucleic Acid Synthesis Screening” on 4–5 November, co-sponsored by the Asia Centre for Health Security (ACHS).
At the event, I delivered a presentation on international regulatory alignment for nucleic acid synthesis screening. I examined why international alignment is essential, the current global regulatory landscape, and potential pathways for achieving harmonized frameworks that advance both biosecurity and responsible innovation.
