
Are We Legally Prepared for the Next Pandemic?Developments in International Law Since the Covid-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed critical shortcomings in international law’s capacity to manage public health emergencies effectively and equitably. In response, states adopted two major reforms: the new Pandemic Treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulations. This talk examined the objectives of these reforms and considered whether they strengthen global preparedness and response for future pandemics.
